Meeting with Mr. President of Sri Lanka

The global partnership for youth ( Ahmad Alhendawi Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth )

Mr Ahmed Alhendawi's message for One Hand in participating the global partnership for youth

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am pleased to update you that, as we recently gathered in New York for the ECOSOC Youth Forum on 2-3 June, the Global Youth Call: Prioritizing Youth in the Post-2015 Development Agenda received resounding support from UN Member States.

The forum brought together UN member states representatives, youth delegates, representatives from national, regional and international youth-led and youth-focused organizations and networks and representatives from various UN agencies. If you missed it, you can revisit the Forum and watch the different sessions at the UN Web TV channel: http://webtv.un.org/
I would like to congratulate all partners that came together around the Global Youth Call and extend my heartfelt thanks for your support and input to this initiative. As I reported to you in my previous message, within a very short span of time, the Global Youth Call has received endorsements from over 1000 youth organizations from over 140 countries around the world, as well as from major international youth networks and alliances and intergovernmental regional organizations (Please note that the full list of endorsing organizations is annexed to the Global Youth Call).  Moreover, with the successful outcome of the 2014 ECOSOC Youth Forum, the strength of this Call no longer only lies in the numerous endorsements received from the aforementioned, but also in the fact that the Call was positively welcomed by over 40 Member States, including the Group of Friends of Youth, as well as by the Co-Chair of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, H.E. Ambassador Körösi, Permanent Representative of Hungary,  during the above-mentioned Forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you that young people actively engaged in the discussions at the ECOSOC Youth Forum, including within the thematic break-out sessions in which they identified concrete follow-up actions on how to take the Global Youth Call forward in the next months, as UN Member States continue their deliberations on the new development agenda.

You have my continued commitment to carry the messages from the Call into the inter-governmental negotiations here in New York, but we will need your continued engagement in raising this issue more prominently in the minds of our world’s leaders. It starts with advocacy led by you, at local and grassroots levels, to convince national governments that the success of the next development agenda will hinge on concrete investments made to ensure that young people's rights are safeguarded and their development needs are fulfilled. Only together can we ensure youth are adequately reflected in the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

Moving forward, I urge you to continue lending your voice to the cause, through social media or via any platform at your disposal. We invite you to share and disseminate the messages of the Global Youth Call as widely as possible.

Thank you, and lets together help move the youth agenda forward.

With kind regards,

Ahmad Alhendawi
Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth

Global experience it has a wide meaning and nowadays everyone can get the information and knowledge I mean Today the world become like small village by modern technology and communications and anyone can see what is going on in other country so we can share with other people and we can learn from their experience also we can swap our culture with them , I mean global experience is useful for everyone to make all people live together despite of differences between their cultures and religions .
but the general topic that I am interested in Yemeni experience and traditions which can attract a lot of people from all over the world to visit Yemen .
I am interested in this topic because I want people to get a sense of what Yemeni traditions has . Actually Yemen has many of natural places and some kind of trees which you can't find it in another country, in addition to that old people in Yemen made agricultural terraces , these terraces can be seen throughout the mountainous areas of the country , also Yemen has variety climate so you can find kinds of weather when transfer between many places furthermore people in Yemen has a lot of customs like their wearing and their food and their customs in wedding party all of this can attract people from around the world and make them looking forward to visit Yemen I mean you can find anything you are looking for . Common customs in Yemen wearing The Jambia , Chewing the Qat , carrying the Kalashnikov - an Essential Accessory ( I think this is bad tradition ) one thing I'd like to inform all visitors don't Taking photographs of women Its immorally or bad for them .
